Summer Assignment - #2

Now that I have been getting into the book, Looking for Alaska, I am starting to notice some themes develop. 1 would be, Friendship.“And we’ll call you …hmm. Pudge”(14). This is because Chip and Miles begin to become very good friends and devolves a friendship bond by giving each other nicknames, "Pudge" and "Colonel".

Pudge is the main character in the book. He starts college at Culver Creek and meets his roommate Chip otherwise known as "The Colonel". The Colonel is from Alabama and has a girlfriend, Sara, they are not on the best terms. Chip comes off as very tough and stern.

Pudge, the narrator, has a crush on Alaska,"You're adorable,' she said, and i felt the intensity of her eyes on me and looked away nervously. 'Too bad I love my boyfriend'".He more of the whippy type ,"'Please guys, don't,' just before  they taped my mouth shut. Then they picked me up an hurled me into the water"(25). This is when 3 boys awoken Pudge in the middle of the night and dumped him into the lake, for no reason. He couldn't do anything to save himself.

Alaska is another student at Culver Creek. She is rebellious and hangs out with The Colonel and Takumi. She seems sweet but also can be a bit of a brat.
